The Key to Any Success

Part 1

I know that I am only 24 years of age but there are things that I have learned over four and a half years in the Marine Corps, that I know have put me ahead of others years older than me. It’s an easy concept and if you learn to master it there are endless opportunities. You want to know what it is. It’s proper communication. I told you it was easy.

When I was in the Marine Corps I made some mistakes, just like everyone else. But I hated it. I could get so upset and sometimes have a hard time sleeping. I know that I can’t be perfect. I started thinking about what would cause mistakes or flaws. It all roots back to the simple concept of communication. Think back to your last mistake. What was it? Better yet, what caused it?

So how do I com better? That’s what you’re asking right now, I know you are. Learn it. Just as simple. Learn it. I can’t teach it, no one can. It is a life long process. I can give you some tips.

As I have been dating a girl now for 9 months (Almost it’s on the 15th) I have been learning from her. I’ve learned her love language and guys out there that’s huge for girls. I know that the things that I buy her wont make her love me but the time I spend with her just talking. Or escorting her with her arm in mine, try that one and see how it works for you men. Sometimes the best communication I can have with her is when I say nothing at all. You see 4 out of 5 times when a girl has a problem, she doesn’t want you to solve it for her. She could care less about solving it, she just wants to know that you care enough to listen.

So I have never written a blog before. I figure it's a new year, time to try something new. My girlfriend writes a few times a week, I can do this.

If you don't know me my name is Cody Light. It seems like a lot of people just refer to me as "Anna's Boyfriend", which I am OK with. I think of myself as a simple man in a complicated life. Life just seems to fly by these days. I'm only 24, young to most but I feel over 30 some days. Anna would argue that I act 12 some days too. I joined the Marine Corps at the age of 19 and have done two tours in Iraq and been to almost a dozen countries (some that people have never heard of).

I look forward to trying to enlighten people on the philosophy of a Marine.
